01

Getting started

The first consultation and what happens next.

What is Signal Health?

Signal Health is a private, clinician-led service in Perth focused on preventive care, precision medicine, performance and health optimisation. We bring relevant health information together, identify meaningful priorities and turn them into a practical plan.

How do I get started?

Start by booking the initial GP consultation. Your GP reviews your history, goals and previous investigations, then discusses which assessment—if any—is likely to be useful. You do not need to choose a testing or support package before that consultation.

Book the GP session or book a complimentary 15-minute chat if you would prefer to talk first.

What does the initial GP consultation cost?

The initial GP consultation is $288. Testing and ongoing support are separate decisions made after the consultation. Current programme prices and inclusions are shown on the programmes section of the website.

Do I have to purchase testing after the consultation?

No. Any assessment or advanced investigation is discussed with you first. You can accept or decline a recommendation, and advanced investigations are individually selected and quoted before anything is ordered.

Is Signal Health an emergency service?

No. Signal Health is not an emergency service and portal, email and membership channels must not be used for emergencies. For severe, rapidly worsening or potentially life-threatening symptoms, call 000 or attend an appropriate emergency department or urgent-care service.

02

Testing and support

Individualised assessment without unnecessary duplication.

What is the difference between Essential and Comprehensive Assessment?

Essential Assessment is a focused clinical assessment selected and reviewed with your GP. Comprehensive Assessment is a broader baseline across blood, body composition, cardiovascular, cognitive, respiratory and physical-performance measures. Your GP will help decide which approach is clinically useful for you.

Will you repeat tests I have already completed?

We aim to avoid unnecessary duplication and identify important gaps in your previous assessment. Bring relevant recent results and reports to your consultation so your GP can judge what remains useful. A test may still need to be repeated when timing, quality, clinical change or comparability makes that appropriate.

Are advanced investigations included in a fixed package?

No. Advanced Investigations are clinician-selected additions rather than a bundled package. They are recommended only after assessment, where there is a reasonable prospect that the result could change clinical management. Benefits, limitations and written pricing are provided before you decide whether to proceed.

Are tests covered by Medicare?

Some separately billed consultations or clinically indicated investigations may be Medicare-eligible when the applicable requirements are satisfied. Eligibility is not guaranteed. Your GP determines clinical appropriateness and discusses likely costs before tests are ordered.

What happens after my results are available?

Your clinical team reviews the results and explains what matters, what is reassuring and what should happen next. Results and approved clinical documents are brought together in the Signal Health Portal. Optional support programmes can provide a structured clinical and exercise-physiology rhythm for implementation.

Do testing or support packages replace my regular GP?

No. Testing and support packages focus on preventive, lifestyle and longevity care and do not replace your everyday GP. Family Membership and Concierge are different services with their own continuity arrangements and terms.

03

Memberships

Continuity options with clearly different levels of access.

What is Family Membership?

Family Membership is an annual service for four or more family members who join together. Each person receives individual, confidential care with a named Signal Health GP, video or phone consultation access within 24 hours for non-emergency requests, quarterly proactive reviews and up to two clinically appropriate home visits per year. Each named GP is capped at 50 Family Membership members.

Membership is enquiry-only and subject to clinical suitability, capacity and written acceptance. Learn more or enquire.

Does Family Membership provide 24/7 access?

No. It provides timely non-emergency access but not 24/7 clinician availability, continuous monitoring, an on-call response, intensive personal health management or unlimited home visits.

How is Concierge different from Family Membership?

Concierge is Signal Health’s most intensive principal-GP relationship. It includes direct access for non-urgent questions, monthly GP reviews, a dedicated care coordinator, broader clinically appropriate house-call availability, regular exercise physiology and nutrition support. It is offered by application and remains distinct from Family Membership.

Learn more or enquire about Concierge.

Does “24/7 access” in Concierge mean immediate or emergency care?

No. It means access to the agreed direct channel at any time for non-urgent matters. The channel is not continuously monitored and does not guarantee an immediate response, consultation or house call. Emergencies must still be directed to 000 or an appropriate emergency service.

04

Portal, privacy and AI

How your reviewed information is accessed and protected.

What can I do in the Signal Health Portal?

The portal gives you secure access to reviewed results, clinical reports, tasks, action points, packages and receipts. Depending on your active service, it may also support questionnaires, wearable-data uploads and other care-team workflows.

How is information protected in the portal?

Portal data is stored privately with role-based access controls, multifactor authentication for staff and audit logging. Portal processing uses patient reference numbers and pseudonymised clinical information rather than names and contact details wherever designed to do so. Pseudonymised health information is still protected as personal and health information.

More detail is available in the Privacy Policy.

Does Signal Health use AI?

AI may assist with privacy screening, transcription, information collation, extraction and draft summaries. AI output can be incomplete or wrong and is not treated as an independent diagnosis. Clinical output is reviewed and, where appropriate, edited or approved by a clinician before it is relied upon or released through reviewed workflows.

Can I upload identified reports or wearable screenshots?

Portal upload areas that request de-identified material should not contain names, dates of birth, contact details, Medicare details or other direct identifiers. Automated screening may reject a source when it detects possible identifying information. Wearable images are re-encoded to remove standard embedded metadata before the generated image is uploaded.

Who can see my information?

Access is limited according to role and care requirements. Relevant information may be shared with your Signal Health care team and contracted or independent providers where reasonably necessary to deliver care, subject to law, confidentiality and the provider’s responsibilities. Each adult Family Membership member has an individual confidential record.

05

Appointments and payment

Practical details about bookings, cancellations and fees.

How do I change or cancel an appointment?

Contact Signal Health as soon as possible. Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. A missed appointment or late cancellation may be treated as supplied and deducted from a package allocation unless exceptional circumstances apply.

Can I cancel a package?

You may cancel for a full refund before the first substantive service relating to that package has been supplied. After the first service, fees are not automatically refundable if you change your mind, although unused material services may sometimes qualify for an appropriate credit or partial refund. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law are not excluded.

Please read the complete cancellation terms or contact us about your circumstances.

Are medicines and third-party fees included?

Not unless expressly confirmed. Medicines, supplements, specialist fees and many independent-provider charges are separate. The scope and price of individually selected advanced investigations are provided before you agree to them.

Where can I find receipts?

Receipts for verified portal payments are available in the Packages section of the patient portal. Contact us if a receipt is missing or you need assistance.

Where can I read the complete legal and privacy information?

See the Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and Accessibility Statement. Those documents take precedence if a short FAQ answer does not capture every detail of your circumstances.
